MILK CRATE THEATRE AT CARRIAGEWORKS THIS MONTH
Milk Crate Theatre presents
BELONGING
A group of people gather for a wedding. Before the ceremony a sense of belonging is found through their shared tales of otherness.
belonging is based on direct interviews with the Milk Crate Theatre Ensemble questioning ‘what is belonging?’. It starts in a kind of psychological realism. As these people prepare for the wedding, memories and tales of love and loss are triggered.
Milk Crate Theatre works with an Ensemble of people who have experienced homelessness and/or social marginalisation through a peer-to-peer mentoring process. The Visible Theatre initiative exposes what happens behind the scenes, including the creative process, the script, the performers, the audience and even the staging itself - all in a way to uncover the raw and uncomplicated truth within the Ensemble’s experience.
23 June 2012, 4pm & 8pm
